Our CTO, Bryan Hall, had the honor of teaching a Lean Startup Bootcamp for Startup Weekend. This happened the weekend before as part of a trial “boot camp” for the Startup Weekend San Diego program. In parallel with this “Lean Track”, there was also a “Tech Track” where Qualcomm Labs showed off their API that’s being made available to entrepreneurs.
The goal of the bootcamp was to give these entrepreneurs a head-start to the weekend by teaching them some valuable skills. About 25% of the Startup Weekend registrants came to the bootcamp.
Bryan’s Lean Track consisted of a heavy focus on Customer Development, the Build-Measure-Learn cycle, and getting a hands-on-approach to validating whether or not your idea is worth persuing…or if you need to tweak it to better fit an actual user need.
